BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina and BlueChoice HealthPlan of South Carolina, Inc. Group Eligibility Guidelines Related to COVID-19 Pandemic
Telehealth Services Extended
Due to the persistence of positive COVID-19 cases in South Carolina, BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina (BlueCross) and BlueChoice® HealthPlan are reminding members there is a $0 member cost share for both Blue CareOnDemandSM and Doctors Care Anywhere telehealth services.
Blue CareOnDemand — Members no longer need to enter a coupon code to receive the $0 cost share for urgent care, behavioral health and lactation support telehealth services. We will use real-time eligibility verification to confirm members’ coverage based on their insurance ID numbers. If there is an issue with eligibility or the patient is not a BlueCross or BlueChoice® member, the cost share will not be waived. The patient will be charged the usual cost share for a telehealth visit according to his or her health plan or policy.
Doctors Care Anywhere — Members must enter the code INS to receive the $0 cost share for general medical consultations.
Telehealth Visits With In-Network Providers:
If members need follow-up care from an in-network provider and would prefer a virtual visit instead of in-person care, they may have the option to arrange either a telephone or telehealth appointment with the provider. Members would pay the same cost share as they would for an in-person visit.
Please continue to remind your customers who are our members that updated information regarding COVID-19 and any related changes in their coverage can be found on our websites. They can also find instructions for accessing Blue CareOnDemand and Doctors Care Anywhere.
